Shop-Floor Defect Atlas & Troubleshooting Matrix

Diagnose rubber compounding, extrusion, and curing anomalies with structured root-cause analysis.

Internal Bladder Wrinkling Marks

Curing
Visual Symptoms Permanent spiral or crease marks imprinted onto the innerliner surface of the cured tyre.
Root Causes Incorrect bladder sizing, low initial shaping pressure, or aged, stretched curing bladders.
Corrective Actions Replace stretched bladders, optimize shaping pressure sequencing, and ensure correct bladder drawing.

Mold Offset / Mismatched Halves

Curing
Visual Symptoms Step-like parting line displacement or asymmetrical pattern match across the upper and lower mold halves.
Root Causes Worn mold guide pins/bushings, loose container bolts, or hydraulic press platens out of parallelism.
Corrective Actions Replace worn guide pins, torque container bolts to specification, and check press tie-rod alignment.

Mold Pinch / Bead Damage

Curing
Visual Symptoms Localised rubber cut, tear, or deformation around the bead area or lower sidewall after curing.
Root Causes Improper green tyre loading into the mold, misaligned upper/lower mold halves, or trapped bladder fold.
Corrective Actions Inspect loader ring mechanics, check mold guide pins for wear, and ensure proper pre-shape pressure on the curing bladder.
